Braided Stainless Fuel Line Problems
Has anyone encountered problems with stainless braided fuel lines? I seem to be constantly changing sections due to leaks, then have to go through the whole XRP or Russel fitting issue, which is not easy. I have been told that they are great for hyd fluids and oils, but fuel deteriorates them over time. I have them running from the filters under the footbox area and all around the engine bay. While they look nice, I'm getting pretty tired of this, let alone my adversion to fires!:eek:

No problems with mine.
Make sure that what you buy is compatable with the fuel they have now days. |
U'v been using a combination of Russell and Sumit lines and fittings. So far, not much trouble. I had one short section spring a leak earlier this year. Otherwise, no problems.

I have not had any issues either, I get all of my braided lines and fittings from these guys, you should try them they have everything you need and are not far from you very knowledgeable - custom brake line assemblies made on-site.

Changed all my fuel lines to Earl's braided teflon hose and fittings. Not cheap, but with the ethanol issue I wanted piece of mind.

With only 10% alcohol have had to replace fuel lines on motorcycles so far.Now have to inspect Cobra with all it's stainless braided Fuel lines.Wow! price we all pay for green.

I was just about to post that I never had a problem, which is true in probably 12 cars over the years. However, I'm not sure my experience included fuels containing alcohol. Is this really that much more corrosive?

I should have noted that my fuel lines are the teflon type, not rubber inner hose.....
