Looks ike a great deal on a used Superformance

Don't know the car or the seller. Just looks like a phenomenal deal.

1967 Shelby Cobra Superformance 351 Windsor, 2K Miles!

How do nyou get that engine compartment to be such a mess at only 2000 miles? Looks like it must have overheating problems...

Mark IV 06-24-2011 10:10 AM

No expansion tank......very easy to always blow coolant all over the engine compartment.

And how many times must they mention "Ford Shelby Cobra"???? A little bit of search engine trolling?

Or if you live in New England you could just buy mine - SPF642.

The auto is at a location less than 20 minutes from my home.

If anyone develops a serious interest and needs info or photos, I'd be glad to make a visit to the facility and help get the info needed. (send me a PM if you're interested, please, I may not revisit this thread, who knows?)

I have to admit, that's a low price for a product like a Superformance...even if it does need a puke tank.

Cheers from Doug!

Maybe I'm confused, but I thought the SPF products were licensed by ol' Shel and were legitimate Shelby "continuation series" cars eligible for registry. If so, I could see the assertion re: Ford Shelby Cobra would be.....um.....sorta accurate, for lack of a better term.

Help me out guys, have I been "mistaken" about this?

Cheers from Dugly!!

Mark IV 06-24-2011 12:44 PM

Licensed yes, contiuation series? No. But the factory that builds Superformance chassis also builds Shelby's non-aluminum continuation cars.

Confused yet?:3DSMILE:

So....I was "half right", I guess.

Thanks for the clarification....I figured if they were licensed by ol' Shel, they'd be considered continuation series autos eligible for registry. Mea culpa!!!!

Cheers from Dugly

In regards to the item for sale, it always make me wonder when they are big on hype and short on the details. No VIN, no chassis number, no real details on the drivetrain, then again, no mention of a convertible top or tonneau cover either.

Confused yet

Fixed it for you :p

The SPO number on the front cross member looks to be in the 1600's which would be manufactured in 2003. I don't know about the engine but the rest of the drivetrain is pretty much standard on Superformance.
