LCS2011 - Great Event!
A note of thanks to everyone that helped organize and attended the LCS 2011. It was a great event!
The changes put in place by the new organizational team were terrific! Thanks Everyone |
I second what Dave said. The weather was a little uncooperative at times, but the OCC guys must be living right, because Saturday was spectacular as usual. It was thrilling to see the huge contribution to Cystic Fibrosis research and it was clear that much, much work had gone into the event. OCC guys and gals, you are truly something else entirely! Thanks for the great time. Hope everyone got home safely, and let's do it again in 12 months. And thanks for trying to make me think I won the car, Dave!

How about some pics and videos from those that attended? I'm thinking about going to this next year....
Came across this on YouTube.. YouTube - 2011 London Cobra Show parade into downtown London Ohio 6/25/11 |
This was my tenth year to attend. May have been the best. Yea, I think it was. The weather was wet. We drove in the rain to get there, attended the Mid Ohio race track in the rain, but that was not all bad. The mechanic and drivers call us into there tents and answered all of our questions about their cars. We loved it. We tent hopped all day.
Saturday perfect. LCS gave CF a check for $100,000. GREAT I would like to thank the OCC for all the work they put into making this one of the best LCS. I would like to thank all the people of London for inviting us back. Big thanks to Bob, Allen, Heather, Jennie and all the other guests who made this one special. Dwight P. S. we left Sunday morning and drove over 300 miles in the rain. The trip home is 530 miles. I set a new personal record of 160 miles in the rain before we hit dry pavement. Then I drove 150 in the rain and the last 40 on dry roads. My advice is to carry 5 beach towels and a roll of duct tape. I'll be back next year.:) |
My first time there and had a great time---will be back next year and I'll try to have my car running for those track events--
I did get to make a few passes in Bob Brown's car and had fun---- Also met a lot of people that post on here Jerry Clayton |
First time attending...GREAT EVENT!!!!
Met a lot of people I have talked to and emailed, etc. but the "face to the name" is worth the trip! Saw Bob Bondurant for the first time in over twenty years (we know some mutual people) and his lovely wife Pat. Pat inisted on videoing me telling Bob how I saw him roll himself up in a little ball At Watkins Glen in 1967. (Geez, how the h@ll old IS this "Mark IV" guy?!?!?)....the friend I was with turned to me before Bob's car had stopped rolling and said "That guy's dead!!!" Bob begs to differ...........!!!! A great cause had a lot of money raised and a lot of good people had a lot of fun! Does it get better? How many towns will shut down Main Street so you can hold "high speed demonstration rides"? |
Yup....All the above! Uncle Ben was waiting to be used for rides. All the drivers were great! Lot's of personality and proud of their vehicles! Now that's what cobra's are all about! Hopefully next year - I'll be giving rides! Thanks to all who organized and supported the cause!

This was the first year I was really involved with the show planning. It was a lot of work, but it was all worth it when we presented the $100,000 check! A big thanks to everyone who bought tickets and supported the show! Pete |
Do we know who the winner of the raffle car is? I hope they were there in attendance!
|
We finally got ahold of the winner's owner. Yes, you read that right . Turns out the guy who bought the winning ticket put his dog's name on it. He apparently doesn't hear very well, so he lets his wife answer all the phone calls. We kept leaving messages, but his wife wasn't calling back because she couldn't figure out why some crazy guy wanted to talk to the dog!?! The winner lives in London and bought the ticket at the show. You just can't make this stuff up...

This was my wife's and my first show and sure hope it won't be my last. We had a wonderful time. Met many nice people and made many new friends. Thanks to Dirty Harry and his wife for making my wife's and my first show so enjoyable.

Somebody needs to give some how-to burnout lessons.:LOL::LOL::LOL:
