I am not sure yet. I have been chatting via PM's with them. They sell Cobras as well and I noticed that the site for the raffle and the site for CSX 4000 Shelby Cobras Gregory Motorsports are linked. Could be a picture posting mistake, seeing they also have another red CSX for sale..... I'm on the fence. I would hate to make a mistake and hurt a charity, I would also hate to see the alternative. If it gets explained then no harm no foul.

You say you are trying to get the word out... You've succeeded. The BAD word. it's all over several forums.
FAIL.

The picture on the ebay ad and the picture from the raffle site looks like the same car (the lines on the wall in the background looks to be in the same spots).

Nothing listed on the ad about it being raffled off. I'm sure it violates eBay's rules to list a car for sale that isn't really for sale.

Seems really fishy.

winwithacobra 11-28-2011 11:21 AM

To be honest we didn't think it would last the week on ebay. Which it has. It has generated a lot of hits, watchers, and ticket sales. I wish we could just run the ad with the win a shelby cobra on ebay. Ebay has a policy against giveaways. We are not going to renew the advertisement. Its not worth the added emails and questions. Maybe could run another colored car, say black?

1ntCobra 11-28-2011 11:24 AM

I did not see anything in the eBay listing that states the car's serial number.

On the other hand, the raffle has stated the car's serial number.

Perhaps the eBay listing is just using pictures of the raffle car as a way of showing what they could built as a CSX6000 car and what you might expect to pay for it. On the other hand, there is supposed to be such a backlog of orders at Shelby that ordering a new CSX6000 now is not possible. So presumably they must have another red CSX6000 roller in stock that they could build to look like the raffle car.

How does the ebay ad drive traffic to your website? Maybe I missed something but I didn't see any website links in the ebay ad. And there isn't even a description of the car. I don't see how anyone would bid based on photos alone.

winwithacobra 11-28-2011 11:38 AM

The pictures are linked to the site. You have to click on the pictures. I want to apoligize to everyone. This was a bad idea in terms of marketing. Sorry for the confusion. The advertisement will expire in a few hours. We are trying to promote the raffle online. This doesn't seem to be the right way of doing it. It was an experiment.

O.K. I just checked you guys out through Shelby American dealers on the Shelby site. Your legit. I am sorry for trouble, however you can see the problem with the EBay listing and the raffle car pictures. There are better ways to market, but I understand you are new to this. A better website presence would also help I think. I feel better now and I believe everyone else should too. Better safe than sorry.

I also found the direct reference to the raffle on the charity site:

Giant Steps Therapeutic Riding Center, a NARHA premier accredited therapeutic riding program

Thanks,

Mike
