Request about offset bushings and bump steer kit
Hi guys,
I would like to know what's the procedure to install offset bushing and a bump steer kit on a stock manual mustang rack and pinion. What are the best products. My steering is too shaky on rough surface even after alignment. I feel the imperfection of the road too much and I would like to improve that so I would like to know if somebody could give me a little course on how to install those two, pictures of the installation would be awesome too since I understand better when I see things. What are the steps in doing so,thanks a lot for your effort,I appreciate any help, cheers ! Michel |
A "bump steer kit" must be specific to your kit and suspension setup. They are not interchangeable.
Measure your bump steer first, then figure out how to correct for it. Hints from Longacre Racing |
I know nothing about suspension set up,I thought any kit would do,thanks for that one, cheers !

Look at my first post... Make sure that Mark is aware that you have a D&D, not a FF.

I told him already,by the way,my tire pressure was extremely high, might make a difference,I will lower it where it should be and see,but this is when I get my car back late summer unfortunatly, thanks

Michel, it has nothing to do with your tire pressure.
Here is an article, easy to understand what's going on... Bumpsteer Explained - Mustang & Fords Magazine |

The first step is to actually measure bump steer. If you're not racing and your bump steer numbers are really low, you won't accomplish anything except make your wallet lighter. If you have a handeling problem, and your bump numbers are really low, look somewhere else for the answer. Don't guess - know. |

Yes, it does. Between that article and the one from Longacre, you should be able to get the job. Both are very good, and very technical. And, you don't need to spend big bux on equipment, either.
