Keeping the knock-offs on.
Hi all. At a recent car show I saw an alternative to safety wiring the knock-offs on.
I can't remember if it was a Superperformance or Shelby but the hubs were drilled through near the outer edge of the threads and a spring loaded pin assy (mounted inside the hab and hidden by the aluminum cap).
These pins were protruding about 1/4" beyond the threads which would stop the knock-offs from coming off if they loosened while driving.
Has anyone else seen these and know where to get these pin assys?
Thanks
Greg

Kirkham does it this way as do all formula 1 cars, just doesnt have the vintage look of the wire for the knockoff.

My Contemporary with Halibrands has the same safety pin set-up. I also safetry wired them. This safety set-up as been around for awhile as my car was built in 1988.

The only issue with that type is that if the knock off comes loose, it can still cause some damage to the wheel or hub before you notice it.

I believe Nick Acton can make them for you. He made a set of them for my 427SC ERA a while back. I used them as a back up to my safety wired knock offs.
