Black Side Pipe Coatings?
For those of you that have black side pipes. What coating did you use? What type of finish are they (gloss, satin, flat)? Are you happy with them?
Thank You

Jet Hot.
Satin.
Yes.
They are 17 years old now and look like they'll last another bunch of years.

I started out with silver ceramic coating on my pipes, but one day while trying to clean them back to their original sheen, I acted on impulse and painted them rattle can hi-temp gloss black. They're easy to touch up occasionally (due for a touch up now actually) and not only does the car look meaner, I think it goes faster now too.;)

VHT (flat) black header paint. 8 bucks a can, which lasts a couple of years. Touch up when needed.

BBQ spray, (flat black) good for the temps, last a long time. There is no smell of BBQ sauce or of anything cooking unless your leg just touched it.

Mine are sivver ceramic coated already. What do you think, skuff them first with say 280 grit? Primmer? I know nothing about paint.

With an extension and swivel. It's got more room between the pipe and V/C than it appears to have. The headers work very well .

Use some Scotch-Brite & wipe clean. No need to prime, just some VHT black header paint that you can get at Pep Boys, Advance Auto, etc. You'll have to touch it up every-so-often. I use cardboard pieces behind the pipes to mask the body.
