8 stack fuel injection
I have been thinking about removing my carb and manifold from my 351W (stroked to 427) and going with an 8 stack fuel injection system
I would be looking for perfomance , reliability and bling bling , fully polished Does anyone have any recomendations for such an animal and if so prices and pics would be nice |

I used Morrison Injection on my Ford small block and have been really happy with the results. They're made in Australia but they are available in the US.

Mando, that is one beautiful system!

I am sure you will get a lot of responses here. I looked at all the options and went with the TWM system. I think they are owned by Borla these days. The only thing I would have done different is I sometimes wish I would have waited a year or two...only b/c when I put mine on there was near as many fuel mgmt computers as there are now. Some of the ones out there now are supposedly A LOT simpler to install and set up. PM me if you want more details and i can share some of my research. Hopefully some other folks will chime in for you as I am not a engine builder..just a Cobra lover :)

I went the Inglese route. Fully polished. Def bling worthy and everyone loves it at shows. Only downside is its pretty expensive. To get the stacks and manifolds polished it was an extra $1000. Worth it ... IMO yes. Set the car apart. Im using the EZ EFI and I dont have any complaints yet @ 2000 miles.

Accuform sells the Classic system. Bob Hockenberry is the owner. Great guy to do business with.

I would contact Wayne presley, at Distributor of the Coolest Parts for the FFR Like everything else we buy, we're looking for more than just a box full of parts. We're looking for a company that will back up their products, and be there when we need them. Wayne has an excellent reputation for that.
Switching from carb to EFI - especially 8 stack - is not simply a matter of bolting on a new manifold. It's a very differant system. There's a learning curve, and it can be a bit steep. IMO, it's a much better system, and well worth the time and money to do it. Not only does it look better, but it performs much better. When we travel with the club, it's pretty obvious who has a carb, and who has EFI. Like any EFI system, you can basicly divide it into two major components: The hardware, and the computer to control it. It's fairly easy to mix and match, as the computer doesn't really care where you bought the hardware, or what it looks like. Do your home work on the computer systems currently available. There's a lot of variability on capabilities and prices. The best systems will be "self tuning" with a wide band sensor; I think that could be an excellent feature. But you can also get full ignition control with crank trigger and COP system- if that's what you're after. The self tuning computers really aren't. You need to get the car on the dyno, and enter a basic tune that's pretty close. Then let the computer go from there. You'll get better results that way. Some computers also offer full control of boost, transmission, fans, multiple injecters, etc. These are great features if you have a use for them. But don't pay the big bux if you're not going to use them. IMO, that would be like buying a turbo system, and then putting it on the shelf in the basement. A common feature is data logging. You may not think you have a use for that. But I find it very helpfull to chase down a drivability problem, and to help get the tune right. If you do go to a stack system, you might need to consider a new cam shaft. Individual Runner (IR) systems do better with a wider LSA, like 114-116*. You can use almost any camshaft you want. But you'll do better with a specific cam. You also have to pay attention to your heads and valves. If your valves are bigger than the throttle bodies, you'll lose velocity and power - the engine will be a dog. IR systems are much more sensative to component selection than any other induction. |
Someone here doesn't want his. Trade.

+1 on Wayne Presley at Distributor of the Coolest Parts for the FFR. Wayne did my system and I don't think you will find anyone more knowledgeable.
Give him a call, you will like him. |
stack system.....

Here is a stack system from very cool parts on a 351W. The injection managment system is all Accell and was tuned on a eddie current dyno. Once it was all dialed in, it has proven to be a very reliable system to the point we are now considering selling our trailer. Bill |
