I reminded of that gentleman who had 78 miles on his $125,000 SPF, I think, and had some teething issues. So, yes, you can spend gobs of money on any of these cars, but all other things being equal (I understand the CSX/ERA/SPF are not the same cars in their basic form), the CSX has to be, and is, the most expensive Cobra.

Is the same true of CSX and SPF? If I walk in to the CSX or SPF dealer and say "I don't like the mechanical configuration of _________ and I will pay you to make me what I want" will they do it?

Patrick,

Show up here with your check book and you'll see! Money talks and .........

I'm sure, but aren't you simply a "one man shop?"

One man and 12 boys! Regardless of how many people work here (oh, about half of them) we can provide most sonderwunsch via us or our suppliers.

Patrick opened up his checkbook once. You never know, he might be willing to do it again.

Well then you won't mind placing a healthy bid on blykin's cam via this thread http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/all-...ft-up-bid.html Not only is it for a good cause, but you could certainly use a piece of that caliber in one of your builds, no? What was it you said, "money talks....";)

RodKnock 10-06-2011 03:28 PM

A solid flat tappet cam would never find its way in one of my future builds. End of story.

HST built a handful or two of carbon fiber cars. Mine is one.

um no... Bill Denbeste is a friend of mine and it is the EXACT oppisite The Hi-tech cars are better quality

Yeah, but it's still entertaining. Clubcobra seems like it has been somewhat mundane, and it's good to rekindle a thread that's a little exciting !

This has been going on for years but the answer is still the same. It all comes down to what you want the car for and how much money you have.

What extras do you want? Look on Cobracountry, there are a lot of different makes on this web site. I bought a Backdraft after looking at SPF and some others. Why did I buy a Backdraft? one reason was because I could not fit in the other cars. the BD has a 62" wheelbase and the price for what you get was great it also sits on BMW suspension which is easy to replace if needed. Look at all the cars and drive as many as you can to see which one feels right for you. Good Luck:D

After looking at a variety of Cobra replica manufacturers, I too chose Backdraft Racing. A little larger cockpit, a superb BMW M3 racing suspension and an outstanding reputation for quality. Mine is a driver however I do take it to shows. VERY pleased with the purchase.

Taking it to shows

I take my car to shows also but never enter any. I just enjoy watching all the people looking at it and admiring it in the parking lot. It's the kind of car you don't see everyday especially here in NJ.

Seek first to understand, before starting a war.

I suspect the newbie mistake Bill was talking about was your arguing that they had it all wrong on which was the higher quality replica. Picking a 9 year old thread to start an argument, from an incorrect point of view was just a secondary point.

Now I may have this all wrong, but you might should have made sure before tossing rocks at a fellow member who arguably knows more about the Cobra replica market and originals than than most people in the sport. Not that he needs me to polish his halo or anything.

Old dog, Look man I am not "arguing" with anyone. I dont give a ****e what the date is on a thread. As I said I am friends with Denbeste. He has at least 10-12 of each cobra on this cobra wall. I did extensive research on which car to buy in seeing them my self, talking with Bill Denbeste, and more important Joe the engine builder for shelby engine co. he has personnally built dozens if not more of the vegas cars, the HST mexico cars and the HI-Tech SA cars, I can go into detail of the differences on the three if you like... I was simply stating my educated opinion on the topic. Why do you accuse people of "arguing"? "throwing rocks" perhaps you should put some thought on your comments before "throwing rocks" at me...
