I don't need it to run it in an engine---I'll use it to check the fit of cam bearings that I install in FE engines--then I can put my prized .600 lift Nascar cam back on the trophy shelf!!!
Also since I used to fly B767 like Doug, I'll raise my bid to $75

HAHAHA.....
Atta boy Jerry!

Not really. ERAChas is grilling burgers outside later though. We're both going to drop by and bug him.

Since this isn't an auction site, sniping the bid will not be tolerated. If there is any semblance of dueling bids going on it will continue until the last man stands. I think the chances of that are slim, but right now Jerry stands to steal a very expensive cam for a mere $75.

And I got a lot of HP/race parts for $75----front motor plates, 7 or 8 alternators, oil bypass valves, radiators----$75 seems to be my magic bid $

How would that cam compare to a standard 282S Comp Cam?
Jim
|

The 282S cam is a 236 duration at .050". This cam basically has 20 more degrees of duration, more aggressive lobes and higher lift.
The added duration would shift the hp/tq curves to the right by quite a bit. This would add top end (if the heads/intake will support it) and take away from the bottom end.

So, in a 454" HR, it sounds like that cam would work quite nice. I have waaayyyy more low end than I need now anyway, and since it's to a good cause, I will go 100.00.

The cubic inches will help mellow the cam down....but it should be pretty fun.

Looks like you got it. PM 767Jockey and get his address and send him a check for $100. Then PM Brent and tell him where you want your cam shipped to. Everyone's on the honor to do this in a timely manner. And I'll figure out a way to write it off as a charitable contribution.

Guys,
Thanks SO much for doing this, I'm very grateful and appreciative. I was able to pick up a set of heads that will need rebuilding. I'm going to ship them to Brent to get an overhaul. If it's ok with all you guys it's probably a good idea to leave the proceeds with Brent to apply to the final bill for the rebuilding of the heads. Does that work for you guys?

Works for me. Flaflier can just send the check to Brent. Maybe Brent will snap some shots of the work he does and we can then find fault with it and make fun of him.;)

Brent,
As an added bonus for doing this, if you want....
I recently harvested a 9'2" alligator, which provided 52lbs of gator tail.
I have it frozen in 2.5lb packages, and I can ship one package frozen overnight along with the check...
You game?

Fried gator is not bad. It gets even better with a little cajun twist thrown in to it. I don't know how cajun Brent is though.

I can honestly say that I've never been offered alligator tail before.....LOL
Hey, if you're willing to ship it, I'm willing to try it. How's the best way to cook it? Just fry it?
