Cobra Question
 

I am not a Cobra owner but I do have a question that perhaps could be answerd .

My car nut friend, now recently deceased, once owned a 63 Cobra( his name is in the registry), while at his funeral we were swapping stories.
I was relating how I tracked down the steering wheel for his car, it was autogrpahed by Sterling Moss. The Cobra in question was sold and shipped to England and I eventually chased the car down. My friend was given the " 18 months to live" and he asked me for my help to track down some of his cars over his lifetime.
He was particularly interested in finding his old cobra. As it turned out after much searching, we found the current owner, my friend did get to discuss the car with him . It had been in a accident and the subject steering wheel was bent and replaced. The current owner was kind enough to send the bent steering wheel to my friend.
It was a great source of pleasure for him to have it, these past few years.
At the funeral one of his friends who was aquainted with the car, said that it was made for Sir Sterling Moss. Could any one have any idea's on that? Are there any records?
My friend is now passed on , and I can tell you he had his casket painted Ferrari Red and had Ferrari decals on it. He was also a Ferrari owner in his youth.

So that's the question , does anyone have any thoughts? Thanks MJEFF

Owner's name or car serial number would help.

His name was Paul Annunziata, Hopkinton, Ma. The CX number escapes me. I believe he might have had the car in the mid 60's.
I have tried to contact Sir Sterling Moss to see if he had a street Cobra personally but to no avail yet. Thanks for you efforts. MJEFF

The car was CSX2033. It has a nice documentation piece in the Shelby American Automobile Club's (SAAC) World Registry of Cobras.

It mentions the Moss engraving on the car's wheel being present in 1965, but the car was not "built" for Moss; it was sold and shipped to UK first in 1972.

Cool fact, it was owned then by Alain de Cadenet.

Thanks , I appreciate you looking this up. When he and I were discussing the car and where we should look , he always thought that there was the Alain de Cadenet connection.
He was at the time the son of a well to do Dr. and his dad got him what ever he wanted. I know he had the car just as I was going into the service and I believe he went in with in a year of that. He often bought and sold cars quickly.
Is it possible to access that documentation with out being a Cobra owner?
While in London during ' 68 I was walking down a street on a early Sunday morning and I heard a roar and a right hand drive , white Cobra came to a stop, a girl was driving , it had fender flares and side pipes, probably a 427 maybe. She then hammered it down this long empty street. It was something to watch. Thanks again for taking the time to look this car up. MJEFF
