Hey Jay, Sorry no pictures. You are in my old stomping grounds as in a past life I was a DPS officer stationed in Tucson. Will be visiting friends there this Feb. Wish I could bring my Cobra.

That would be cool....We could cruise to Mt Lemon...but that might be cold! J

I checked mine for the first time this week. 8.8 MPG mix of highway and city
428FE 464 cu. in., 680cfm Quick Fuel, Richmond Gear 5 speed, 2.88 rear Maybe it will get better after some more miles and with more highway use, but hey, I didn't build this thing for fuel economy - just like most of the other guys said... |
You should sue for mis-stated gas mileage. Apparently, that's now allowed...

I was reading through this thread when a vision popped into my head and I couldn't stop laughing.
Hot August Nights in Reno and a group of motor heads are deep in a heated discussion. Owner of a 32 Ford with a blown Hemi says "I get 35 MPG on the highway" and the guy with the 57 Chev with the Rat motor and Nitrous counters "I get 38 MPG and thats in town". The owner of a Pro Street Dodge Says " when I get my new overdrive and 2:50 gears I'll be getting over 50 MPG". Everyone is in awe and wants to know which of the MPG Guru's is doing the work on his car. Sorry guys but for those of us with FE's mileage is sort of a joke. Or at least very low on our consideration level. ( Possibly with the exception of Jamo as he is very energy conscious) :D |
Great thread. So I've had my car for less than a month and have driven her about 130 miles. It's a 427 with a 780 cfm quick fuel carb, I'm averaging about 8 mpg city/highway/ mountain so far. was a little surprised, thought it would get at least double digits but the smile on my face is worth at least +5 mpg so I'm grading it on a curve at 13 mpg :)

Let's get real. Who has driven a Cobra that hasn't 'gotten on it' once between fillups?
I get around 8-10mpg and i drive energetically. 454 SO 5 speed Tremec, 3:54 rear. I got 12 mpg once with the motor turned off. http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r...352/cobra5.jpg |
Built our car in 93/94 do not have clue about mpg,may check this season just for the heck of it.The new 1000cfm dbl pmp might surprise me.Then again as some have said it really does not matter.

289 with lots of solid lifter camshaft, 48 IDA Webers, 3.70 gears with a 4 speed. Hiway about 15, if I lean on the ring gear .....it gets about 10 with lots of good noise, and it cancels out several Prius owners efforts.

427SO 2X4 550 cfm. 8-9 mpg.
