Crank & Rod Pics, can you identify?

Here is one for the fully informed.
I'm still going through the cam issues with my little 418 small block. The motor was supposed to be a high end parts motor and I'm trying to get all the internals identified as I go. Can anyone identify this rotating assembly? The rods are hard to see in the pics, but they are H beam. There is a part or assembly number on the crank, but I can't find a reference for that on the net. I was told it may be an Eagle assembly. Only important as I'm considering increasing the rev limit with a new cam to between 6,500 to no more than 7 and I want to feel comfortable the motor can take that very occasionally. (Pistons are good for those numbers). Thanks |
EDIT...
Ok, now that I'm in front of a computer monitor instead of my phone, I see "Eagle" on the rod bolts. Still out to lunch on the crank. The typical hydraulic roller won't get to 7000 and if you're wanting more "driveability" and low end power over your previous cam, you won't need to put that kind of rpm limits on it anyway. |
The crank number does not look like a Eagle part number but I do not know why they would go Eagle rods and different brand crank but it happens. Looks like it is a 4340 steel crank. Looks like the stuff should be fine for what you are doing.
Good luck, Keith |
