5.0 to c-4
I am putting a 89 5.0 ho in my wife's 40 Ford, the old 302 is shot. It looks like I need a tci 529620 flex plate, can,t seem to get any good info. Has anyone used this part, if so how did it work? The 5.0 is a 50 oz and the c-4 is a 164 tooth now. Anything else I should take into account ?

Three things to consider. The first two you have already. The balance and the amount of teeth. The third thing is the converter bolt pattern. According to the Summit website, the TCI 529620 has an 11.5" bolt pattern. The Performance Automatic PAX30212 has a 10.5" bolt pattern and also has the large and small bolt patterns for GM converters. You will have to measure the bolt pattern on your converter before ordering the new flexplate.

Just did this last summer, call Summit, they will fix you up, just compare new to old, notice difference in balance weight, tooth count. Installed Borgeson power steering at same time, love it.

Thanks for the feedback now I need to take care of the pulley situation. I need a crank pulley with 50oz to work with the early 65-68 3 bolt system.
