Not Cobra But A Vintage Look

I know it's not a period Cobra look. But have you ever seen one with steel wheels and baby moons? I thought they may look nice, seen any pics?

Or just black steel wheels with billboards? Directed at guys with 5 lugs.

I figured it would be tough to get an answer on this one.

Yes and it made the car look like a cheap rebody kit car even though the rest of the build looked ok.

This Factory Five looks like it may have steel wheels.

Here's a V8 powered Austin-Healey that will sort of give you an idea what they might look like on a Cobra:

I have a friend that bought a 63 Split Window in 1964. He hated the wheel covers on it and pulled them off and installed small hubcaps on the car. It still has the originial white paint on the car and the hubcaps. Kinda an old school look. Mark

The Healey does look a bit plain. Maybe with a different paint scheme. Deep dish wheels look better if you have them.

Just the rims with skinny tires

I am thinking that is either a game or a bad 3D model job.

Look through the wheel holes. See the background?

The tires are not compressed at all. The brakes are not there either. The environment map is messed up around the turn signals. There is no reflection of the side pipe in the body. If you look closely at the rear rims, near the edge, you can see where the vertex points are.

I stopped looking after that.

Ralphy 10-02-2012 02:29 PM

It is a photoshop look at the people. However it's the wheels I'm after.

The people are textures attached to simple poly faces. The background is a 3D scene. As if from a game.

Yes, it could be assembled from several 3D files with Photoshop, but the original elements in the scene are all 3D models.

I work at a game company. It gets easy to spot these things when you have been at it for over a decade.

Not sure if the wheels exist in the real world, as those wheels are 3D drawings.

Those look like Cragar Soft 8s.

Edited to add: Jeez, guys, I'm sorry my first post was a 3 year old necro-post.

Plus they are Black D Windows...
