Wiring problem
1 Attachment(s)
I have forgot where a wire under the dash was conected. I believe it has something to do with the tach. Is it a ground or a switched positive? Any help would be great. See attached photo of the two yellow wires that are conected at the end with a round eyelet. Thanks prostangrr

Maybe others on this forum can look at that mess of wires and figure out what kind of car you're working on, but I sure can't. ... Hint?
|
HMMM! first check it to see if it is hot (use a tester)..key on, key off. Next check to see what's not working on your dash, lights on guages, tach. etc.
If you can't figure it out...punt and get some help at the local garage. Bill |
What brand cobra? What wiring harness? What is the device it is connected to with the four wires in a row? Can you power it up? In order to help, we need much more info!

The car is an original 1964 289 AC Cobra. This is the wiring that it came with and the wire has no power with key on or off. I think the round brass device has something to do with the original SW tach. I do not have the car running yet and will need to use some kind of a tach adapter because I am using an MSD ignition.

Original 289 Cobra wiring diagram
Hello, A Club Cobra member sent me a copy of the original 289 Cobra wiring diagram a couple weeks ago. Send me a PM with your email address and I will send you a copy.
That round item with the 4 wires is the SW tach sending unit, the sending unit on our car CSX2498 was not working. I sent the tach to MOMA and they did the upgrade to take the sending unit out of the loop. regards, karl |
