A/C Foot Pedals - Disappointing Experience

Disappointing Experience - When you order the SUPERFORMANCE MKIII - AC FOOT PEDALS advertized on shopsuperformance(Hillbank), you actually get the Finish Line A/C Foot Pedals that require drilling or milling. The pedals from Finish Line are very nice, but not what I was expecting.

I placed my order by phone and was willing to pay the higher price because I was told that these were Superformance specific pedals. They did offer, today, to let me send them back on my nickel. That means I will be sending it back to Finish Line for full credit via shopsuperformance and then turn around and order them back from Finish Line since this is apparently my best option for the A/C Foot Pedals.

I guess I should have done more research. Lesson Learned.

Wow. What was the price difference? Shipping them back and then buying them sounds like more shipping $ and time $ than it is worth. Why not just shrug and let it go?

Of course, there is always the principle argument. Though, I'd probably just say, "Damn it!" and live with the decision, shucking the cost difference to the cost of gaining wisdom.

I like the stuff from Finishline, myself.

I also noticed that the Finishline pieces (which appear to be quality castings) are "as cast" and require a fair amount of finish sanding and drilling to be functional. Does anyone sell a finished product? Superformance must hand finish theirs at the factory.

Doug,
The price difference was $74.00.

I ordered the foot pedals from shopsuperformance/Hillbank and paid them, but Finish Line is who sent it to me, billed back to Hillbank Motor Corporation. I don't know if it is worth the hassle and time to return it and reorder it again from Finish Line.

I feel pretty dumb and taken advantage of by shopsuperformance/Hillbank, but will probably just leave it as a lesson learned.

I mill the slots in batches on the pedal blanks, drill for clevis pins and drill and counterbore the grommet holes so they will actually go in and stay in. I can also run them over the belt sander to give a nicer appearance but I'd rather you scuff it off yourself driving it. If you need any help with a set let me know.

Sounds like typical Hillbank to me.

Contact Whitbymotorcars@aol.com... They set pedal sets that are machined to fit the Clutch/Brake levers. $32 each. Worked perfect for me. I'm also looking for a unmachined AC pedal that I can use for a dead pedal. Anyone have one?

Don't feel dumb, but do feel taken advantage of.

That is really piss-poor. You ordered in good faith, thinking you would get an SPF-sourced part at some real or perceived better quality than a 'generic'...

...and were served with a non-blind drop-ship from another well known source at maybe twice the price.

Sloppy business.
