Rim Dia for ERA 427?

While the std. rim dia. for the ERA 427/ 6 pin rim, seems to be 7.5"x15" front & 9.5"x15" rear. What would be the max width 6 pin rims to be safely used on the front & rear of the 427 street model? Will the 9.5" x 15" work safely on the front of the street model? Rear width ?

Thanks,

Silversmith:

Here are the wheel/tire/offset specifications for ERA cars:

Wheel size table

They know what works on their cars, and this is pretty much it. If you have any questions, you can always call them.

It's not the rim but the tire size

Silversmith Smithy a 245 or 255 15" tire is about all you can run and not hit the body of the car on turns with stock suspension setup. 295 50's in the rearend on 15" rims. Not sure what number car chassic you have but on the older cars, Mine was 428 the body got a small fiberglass insert to fit 335/35 17" wheels and not hit the body of frame. Fronts are 255/40 17" Handling is crazy with 17". You have more fun with 15" and sliding the car. What rubber are you looking at?? Avon tires are about the best for 15" wheels and street usage. The Billboards look the best on a cobra but have problems of flat spots and balance if the car sits too long. Rick L.
