new windshield

Does anybody know how hard it is to install a new windshield in a superformance cobra? Also does the complete windshield assembly have to be removed from the car. Thnx Mike

What is the chassis number? there are differences dependant upon when your car was built.

Yes, the complete assembly must be removed to install new glass, but that is pretty easy, just some bolts under the instrument panel/cowl area.

chassis # 1723

That is the later "tall cowl" unit and different than most other "Cobras". We can supply the glass.

Are you a SCOF member? There are technical articles there on installing the glass or the available composite (plastic) windshield

Not a member. I live in San Jose ca. I looked at the windshield and it will come very simple (4bolts and 2 hex for the center rod) tapeing everything to prevent any scratches and find a glass shop to install the new glass. I was quoted $580.00 for the glass is that about correct? Thnx. Mike
