How To Build Cobra Kit Cars & Buying Used
Hi All Cobra Replica Owners, Builders, and Fans,
My Dad and I just finished building a Cobra replica that I've written a book about for CarTech Books. The book is 18 chapters, 176 pages, has 510 detailed color photos showing the process, and also explains what to look for, when purchasing a used Cobra replica. The book will be available in July of this year, but can also be purchased in pre-release phase from Amazon. You can find a link to it here on my website: Member Benefits: SAVE BIG - Redline Shopping. We will be displaying the car at the Factory Five Racing Huntington Beach Cruise-In, on April 28. Here are some details about the Cruise-In and some photos of the car we built: Factory Five Hits the Books | Factory Five Racing. All the best, Brian |
Sounds interesting. Is the build in the book just a factory five or do you talk about other brands? Do you talk about older kits like Artnz ,Contemporary?

We talk about all current Cobra replicas...

We talk about all the current Cobra replicas on the market. There is a chapter that discusses the different kits and turnkey cars on the market. We go into a fair amount of detail discussing how the various manufacturers kits/turnkey cars differ. There's a chapter devoted to purchasing used Cobra replicas and what to look for. Then, the balance of the book is building a FFR Mk4 Cobra replica. We start with a Factory Five Racing Mk4 Complete Kit and do a fair bit of custom work. For example, we installed a Tremec T56 Magnum 6-speed manual transmission, which required us to shorten the driveshaft. There are a number of other mods we've done to make the car our own. We go into considerable detail on all the aspects of building the car, with 176 pages, 18 chapters and 510 color photos in total. Thank you for your questions. Best regards, Brian |
Car looks great and the books a great idea. Will pick up a copy.
