Happy Easter/ who got their Cobras out this weekend?

I had the family over for the weekend and Sunday we broke out the Cobra for a short cruise. I had forgotten how much I like having my noggin hanging out in the wind, feeling the temp changes as I would go into a small dip in the landscape (could hardly call it a valley). Catching the glances of others as they sat beside us at a traffic lights. Girls and kids have always been my best admirers.

I do love my Cobra and the ole FE 427 that coughs and sputters to attention each time I start it. Bad manners and all my Cobra was one of my best investments. It's hard to place a value on the way the ole cars makes you feel. I let my son n law take a couple of my grand daughters for a short ride and he came back with a grin a mile wide and the girls (2 and 5) were telling me that it really wasn't that loud. By the way I live out of the City Limits so traffic is nil. Girls were quite safe.

It was beautiful in my neck-o-the-woods Sunday, 70deg and sunny. I took her out and scaped all the tire nibs off my new M/T ET drag radials while I lifted the front tires once or twice!

Glad you had the weather to compliment your Cobra. I did need to clean the dust off my tires a time or two. Once was by request from one of Tulsa's finest! :)

I did a 250+ mile road trip over the Easter weekend to my in-laws with my eight-year old son putting in about 150 miles of seat time; 110 miles at night wiht the stars, the wind and the pipes singing in my ears. These cars are made to be driven.

50 degrees here, but still got it out for about an hour. Wife loves it too, so took a cruise and then stopped for lunch. Home and covered up with rain forcast for all week.

Went to our club picnic. Temp in the 80's. Nice weather to drive in.

The Tucson Cobra gang went to Wilcox on Saturday and enjoyed some track time at Inde Motorsport Ranch. It was in the high 80's with light cloud cover and a slight breeze to keep things cool. Ideal track weather. Here's a link to a smile box with pictures of the good times. http://smilebox.com/playBlog/4d7a413...&blogview=true There are also some pictures of the Arizona Cobra Club picnick hosted by Dave & Larry Hall held March 24th.

Sat went to Cars and Coffee then drove over to Peter Brock's new work shop in Henderson for the open house. He and Gayle have set up a really nice area inside the shop to look over Peter's sketchs, drawings and photos. And don't miss the cars Peter is working on a second coupe.

Happy Easter to all over there.

I recently sold my GT40 and Mustang convertible - like a young kid I have fond memories of my first love the Cobra.

A Kirkham now in my possession. Just finished the brushed aluminum finish and starting on the final assembly including motor etc - a 468 all aluminum Shelby block.

I leave for the States this Tuesday with Anne. I will make the Shelby 50th in Pomona but mainly touring. California to Florida up in Georgia then back down to Miami. The last two weeks in California again - San Fran, Carmel, Santa Barbara then Palm Springs.

So all over the place. I will check out some local cruisers and burger places.

Hope all is good there.

Great weekend

80 degrees this weekend.
About five of us drove about 15 miles to a car show put on by one of the local high schools. Then I drove over and picked up a buddy. We stopped by Eddie's and help set the front end of his 64 Ford truck onto the frame. Then we drove 50 miles to a small town cruise on the Court House Square. Got home about 8 PM.

Sun burned and happy.
We have had a couple of months of good warm Cobra weather!

Oh yeah. Saturday was gorgeous here in central Alabama, so I took the Cobra to an all day family picnic at a local state park. Sunday was just as nice, so I took the Corvette out to blow the dust off. Today was just as pretty, so I spent all afternoon cruising around in the Cobra to visit my friends. When the weather gets like this, it doesn't take much to convince me to go enjoy the wind, the sun, the rumble and the waves. :)

52 and sunny in central new york, a little nippy, but the big block makes plenty of heat for a cobra ride!

It was very nice in Chicago area. Had to pick up some last minute items from the grocery store for Easter dinner. Good to have a cheap excuse to take the car out for an hour drive when all we needed was some snacks before dinner:)

Last night the wife and I took the Cobra to one of our favorite outdoor restaurants "Los Cabos" and found a safe parking space away from the crowd when this young girl and her friend pulled up next to us in a 289 Competition Orange 65 Mustang convertable. I asked about her Mustang when she told me it had been her grandmothers. Man did I feel old.

The weather was perfect last night to sit on the patio and enjoy a Patron Margarita and share an order of steak quesadilla's with my wife. The outdoor singer (a Jamacan with long dreadlocks) was doing some Regae' music as well as some 80's classics ...and doing a darn good job on both types of music.

I love this time of the year for many reasons.

Last Saturday, the wife and I decided to enjoy a quick ride in the Cobra. We have been having several weekends with rain so we took advantage of the mild 70 degree day! Did about a 60 mile loop on the back roads and only passed one car.

This summer marks 20 years owning the Cobra and after going through the gears a couple of times it's still all smiles :3DSMILE: Spring has sprung!
