Anyone have this problem?
I've had my cobra for a month now and I drove it yesterday and jumped on it a little hard and started hearing a funny exhaust note. At first I thought I'd blown the engine, but it was definitely the right side exhaust.
I called the guy I bought it from and he said that I probably blew a header gasket. He said I should tighten the header bolts every now and then to keep the headers tight up against the block, or I will probably blow a gasket.
Not a big deal, but thought I'd report this in case others suddenly have a strange sounding exhaust.

take the bolts out and put some rtv on the threads and reinstall, will help keep them from moving.

I've never tightened mine up. The installer (Vintage Upgrades in Humble, TX) musta used the right stuff.

Exhaust gaskets are $15-$45 (okay, here in the US...). Why wouldn't you just replace the gasket?
It is a good practice to tighten your header bolts and your valve cover bolts from time to time. I learned this the hard way.

I havn't used a header gasket in years. Strictly hi-temp copper silicone sealant. I use the same silicone sealant on the threads of the bolts - you can't avoid it. I use average bolts, nothing special. I never loose a bolt, and I'v never blow a gasket.
