New Backdraft Cobra help!

This is my first post so I hope I don't bore you with questions that might have been answered before.

I am in the process of buy a Backdraft Cobra and need some good advice.

1. My engine of choice as of now is the Roush 402R as I want to stay around the 500HP range. My main use will be mostly around town driving with some highway driving with an occasional track day and would like to know how streetable this engine is. I'm coming from a supercharged C6 Corvette which originally started out with a pretty wild cam which I changed to a ZR1 cam as it couldn't even go around 35-40 MPH without the car bucking and surging. Will the 402R Roush give me a fairly smooth ride at the 30-40 MPh range?

2. I also like the new Coyote engine but it's only 414 HP (certainly not bad at all) but to me it just doesn't look right sitting in the engine bay. Not nostalgic enough but that's just my opinion.

3. If I do go with the 402R what rear gear ratio might be the best choice for the kind of driving I mentioned above?

If you want a really smooth, torquey Roush motor, get the SR model.

I have their 427 SR with the twisted wedge option and it will cruise all day at 1800 rpm but pull like a freight train if you need it.

My SPF has the 402SR TW. Streetable and a Torque Monster.

Call blykins or Keith craft for motor opinions. If you have to go roush go 427 if just for resale value. Torque is fun, hp means very little go mild big block.

As a rather new BDR owner with a Coyote with modifications, I can only tell you that it is a blast. Modern technology with a beast inside. All the motors that have been suggested are great engines ( now at 440 rwhp). Just look outside the box for a minute. I appreciate all your answers and suggestions. I finally decided and went with the 402 SR with FI. Should run real smooth and still have a lot of torque. Now the hard part comes, the wait which hopefully will be less then 3 weeks.

I didn't get the body number but you are right that Frank is the person I'm working with. Great guy and everybody there will go out of there way to answer any questions.
