Thinking of new interior
My FFR is a little shop worn inside. It has a real light duty carpet that I scrunch up every time I slide into the seat. Anyone have any alternative to carpet? Something spray on maybe?
Also, anyone make a carbon fiber dash for the FFR? My gauges suck. Anyone have preference for gauges? |
I bought some fairly nice indoor/outdoor carpeting from Lowes. I didn't spend a lot of money on fancy automotive carpeting, because I knew it would be exposed to the elements.
I considered spray on coating, like pick up bed coating. I have it in the trunk, and that's fine. But I think it would look tacky on the interior. I have seen a CF dash panel here and there. But I think they were all custom made for that particular car. As for gauges, that's almost as subjective as the color. I prefer Autometer. But Speedhut is making some pretty nice stuff, too. If you have the bux, you can get them custom made. |
When building my car realized it would never keep us dry so bed lined the floors carpeted the tunnel and behind the seats.Looks awesome and very functional.Tacky? no way, nothing worse then soggy carpeting. We did leather seats door panels and dash with Stewart Warners.Stereo? never made sense in a Cobra like on a motorcycle with wind and exhaust.

Interesting input. I think I might shy away from the spray bed liner for interior floors, once it is sprayed it is on forever, like it or not. It is a good idea however.
I think I really want to redo the dash and gauges, I will look at speedhut, autometer and s/w. Thanks for input. |
