Illinois and Seatbelt law

I'm interested in finding out if anyone knows what the state of Illinois requires regarding seat belts.

For the passenger side I would like to install a Lap belt and an anti-sub belt. Will this be acceptable to the State.?

Installation a double shoulder harness type belt will be a task. And to do it properly to eliminate/reduce the chance spine compression I would have to do a bunch of cutting of the body and install steel mounting points back to the frame in the trunk. Then it creates a another issue that in a roll-over the passenger is strapped in and exposed. I know that a roll-over is a severe condition and front and rear impacts are more realistic where shoulder straps will help.

A single shoulder strap will also have it's installation issues.

Driver side is no problem as the shoulder straps will mount to the roll-bar at the correct angle for limiting spine compression injuries. And the driver has the protection of the single hoop roll bar.

I look forward to your comments.

Thanks, Arthur
