Spinner Replacement
If you were buying replacement spinners would you buy forged or stainless and why?

I have stainless knock-offs. Had the same four for 18 years. I use anti-seize, liberally. Early on (during the first several years of ownership) before I realized the benefit of liberal use of anti-seize, I beat the stuffing out of several knock-offs :CRY::CRY: and none of the ears bent.:eek: They won't bend.:D
I put them on and remove them without problem.:MECOOL: David |
It is very important to know which wheels you have before changing spinners. You PROBABLY have WAW2 rims. Consult the new owners manual available from 2nd Strike for compadability or contat me later as I'm in a meeting at work right now 8-)

Stainless spinners do not gall the wheels. Like metals will gall each other aluminum to aluminum. This is the reason you see all the posts with frozen spinners. They are aluminum.

I picked these up from Summit. They are the nicest ones I could find. I had to have my centers widened about 1/8" at the machine shop but they look great and they have the SHELBY logo in the middle. They are aluminum and come with set screws. |
Cobra spinner repair ?
I have what I believe are replica aluminum spinners. They are decrative ONLY and not for function. The ears are bent inward and I want to straighten them.
