Hi all,

I am loocking for some measures on my NAF 289:

A... Ground to frame, front/rear
B... Camber, front
C... Caster, front
D... Toe

Hi Rico. A lot of variables here, but I'll share with you how my NAF is set up.

1) Floor to frame: I'm going to assume you are asking about ground clearance - "Ground to frame".
Now the variables: my car has a highly modified Mustang II front suspension and a Ford 9" solid axle rear end with adjustable coil over shocks front and rear.
I set my ground clearance so the tires look "right" in the wheel well openings and I don't have bottoming out problems.
So I have 4 inches ground clearance in front to the bottom of my oil pan and 4 1/2 inches ground clearance in the rear to the bottom of the main frame rails in front of the rear axle.

2) & 3) Camber and toe in are somewhat dependent on what front suspension you have. Mine is set at a rather generic 1 deg of negative camber and 1/6 inch toe in.

Others may have better advice.

The measures on my 289 are:

Ground to oilpan 4.5"
" to bellhausing 4"
" to frame front 5.5"
" to frame next rearaxle 6.5"

Tires 245/60/15, 275/60/15. Wheels fit ok in wheelarches.

Maybe someone have moore infos.

The only way to compare these measurments is to compare tire diameters (wheels make no difference) then compare measurements from ground surface to the bottom of the main frame rails at the front, about mid way through the oil pan and the rear end of side frame rail near where the X bracing is attached. Otherwise there is a variable as to where the frame is butt welded to the Mustang II cross member which will effect body height.

Two days ago I checked the wheel / chassis alignment with a Gorghi-Electr. unit (last generation wireless).

The driving behaviour and adjustments before the test were no good.
With more than 50 miles/hour the car started to drive with me, not the other way around. Accelerating the car started loosing rear end.

The test showed bad Toe and Caster on each front wheel.
Also the rear axle has been 1/2" to the left side out off chassis frame, as well as 1/2" unparallel to the front axle.

After adjusting the car now is much easier to drive and control.

Adjustments:
Front Caster -0,5° / -0,5°
Front Toe -1/8" / -1/8"
Rear Caster -0,83° in /-0,92 in
Rear Axle to chassis side by side 0,03°
Axle to Front parallel 0,02°
