Autolite battery detailing

Here are a few pics of the old New Castle Autolte Sta-ful battery I cut up and gutted to use as a cover over my Optima battery.
Still have to touch up the red lettering on the top, clear coat it and bond it to the shell. See my previous post about the "correct" battery caps. Cheers Greg |

Yeah, I thought about going with the "modern" AGM Autolite battery, but I was already committed to the Optima, and if I ever have to replace the Optima, it's much cheaper and locally available.
By the way, NAPA currently has a $25.00 rebate on Optima batteries. Net of rebate, with AAA discount, out the door was $168.00. Cheers Greg |
Optimas are good batteries & that repo would cost $50 more.

Hi Dan. That would be a deal. The cheapest Auolite repro I could find was $269 plus about $32 shipping - over $300 total.
