Autolite battery "shell" hiding Optima

I've finished detailing the Autolite Sta-ful battery shell and now I'm test fitting it to hide the Optima battery in the right rear wheelwell corner of the truck.

Here's a pic:

Very nice. How did you get the posts to align to the Autolite top?

I didn't line up the top posts.

After I gutted the old Autolite battery, I cut off the top posts of the Optima battery so the Autolite battery "shell" would slide over it and I'll use the side (on the back in this case) posts on the Optima to hook up the power. The actual power cables will then be in behind the Optima battery and hidden.

I'll run a couple of dummy cables to the top posts of the Autolite battery shell to complete the look.

I'll post some more pics.

Last week I posted pics of the Autolite battery "shell" after I had gutted it.
