Once bidding starts, how high will it go ?

It doesn't look like there will be any bidding. It's either "buy it now" for $210K or "make offer." If an offer is accepted, I don't think it shows up on eBay.

Nedsel 07-24-2012 07:20 PM

If you think about it, weren't they all "owned by Shelby" at one point in time?

It has to be his car, look he signed his name on the glove box. I was wondering how one will I get their glove box signed now that Shelby is gone.

A/S65 07-26-2012 08:06 AM

Wouldnt it be more rare to have a Cobra or Mustang that wasnt signed?

RodKnock 07-26-2012 08:24 AM

The SF dealer has a good reputation, but generally sells Porsche's.

Doug, if the offer and acceptance is made through eBay, then it should show the final selling price.

Someone just might find a stack of signed glovebox doors in an old warehouse somewhere...:JEKYLHYDE

There probably is a stockpile. Ever notice how many CSX rollers come with signed gloveboxes? Think it will continue???

From the details:

" It was owned by Carroll Shelby and is listed in the Shelby registry which we have a copy of. We also have a copy of the original title with Shelby's name on it as well as the MSO. "

Is it implied that CS sold the Cobra to someone by use of the words " copy of the original title " ? In CA, does a vehicle registered as a 2002 receive a Title for each owner ?

A new title/pink slip is generated for each new owner of a vehicle and the existing pink slip is surrendered to the DMV. Someone with access to CarFax to could see if how many times/where the car was bought and sold. Maybe the registry says who the owner(s) have been.

It does have SB100, which stays with the car.

It has been documented that a number of cars were first titled to CS, then sold to the owner......the new owners wanted it that way.......
In some states it is perfectly legal as in my home state....
Go to the DMV office with the bill of sale and pay the sales tax and get a new title in your name, you could/can retain a copy of the old title showing it was titled to CS.......

Easy to do, some thought it would give their car some "provenence" as being "Carroll's personal car"......... I doubt he ever sat in some of these cars, much less drove them, he may not have even seen them in person..........

All that was done is to create a "paper trail" to make the car something special......
