Spinner tool - who makes the best out there?
I recently read several posts on spinner tools and how this particular tool greatly helps in loosening and tightening wheel knock-offs.
I can't aim a hammer and apply good pressure to begin to remove my wheels :o, so I'd like to try and get more information on these tools that were discussed in the forum. Who makes a decent spinner tool in the market? Anybody have any idea on what a spinner tool might go for? Any comments? George |
Unless you go with a large nut in place of the spinner, stick with the lead hammer.

http://my picticturesBest Spinner Tool I have used meaning the most capable of removing the spinner without alot of effort or damage.The one DPS Products has cyldfil@aol.com . Dual hammer design creates alot impact and torque . You don't have to be good with a hammer anymore.

They should be tightened to approximately 300 LB/FT.
The problem with all of the tools I have seen is that they do not have dog ears to keep them for slipping off in use. It's pretty hard to keep them straight and apply that kind of torque. I still vote for the lead hammer. |
Watched the Jay Leno vid, and have to say I dont understand how you get that kinda torque using a little diddy torque wrench like they use in that promo vid. Mine is about the same size and has no way near that kind of torque capability.

Slipping off

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx The problem of slipping off / keeping it straight does not exist with DPS tool . One hand holds the handle and one hand spinns either of the twin hammers. The car / spinner supports the other ond of the tool. No real skill required to operate. I'm not knocking hammers,but I think this is better. |
