Need Some Opinions, Please...

Folks,

This car is for sale on Cobra Country. Can someone please tell me their thoughts on this car's price? 45k seems like a pretty good price for a Superformance. I'm assuming it is not in the 50s k range due to not having an FE type block? Is a crate 460 SVO not a true 427? I believe that the 460 Crate motors are pretty nice and do nicely in these cars.

"Under the hood: Ford Racing crate 460 SVO 486 hp/ 500+ ft. lbs torque (very street friendly); aluminum flywheel, Canton 10 qt racing oil pan, MSD ignition and billet distributor, all braided stainless steel hose, aluminum intake manifold and Demon carburetor with breathtaking throttle response. Tremec TKO 5-speed gearbox. Jet Hot Coated headers and sidepipes."

A 460 (385 series engine) is not a 427 FE.

So a 460 is part of the 389 family and is obviously not a 427. But is this why the price is lower than other Superformance cars I see for sale? From what I hear, the 460 is a nice motor. I suppose with the 460, if you're a purist, it (should) drag the price down?

I think a 460 is a fine engine. Is it for me? No. But there are numerous folks here who run and enjoy them.

As for the price, I'm not up to date on SPF pricing, but yes, a 460 is probably less desirable in an SPF since the majority of SBF's seem to have SBF 351-Windsor based engines. Not many seem to come with 460's or FE's.

Yes 45 K is about right for a Superformance.
In my opinion, any ford engine is good.
Of course get it inspected if you cant view it in person.
I think the 10 qt. oil pan is way too big. It ll take a long time to warm the oil.

Looks good. Later build and low miles. Also, the right color for a Superformance Cobra. :)

The motor in question was offered by Ford as the perfect "DRAG RACE" engine. As such, it's primary usage is not what I would call "street driven" friendly.
