I am in Voorhees NJ-you are welcome to check out my silver BDR anytime to give you an idea of what the car is built like. 35k is a low # for a new car unless you were talking about the rolling ass'y only in which case you have good options.

I looked for about a year and couldn't find anything (already assembled) that I would feel comfortable (as safe as you can be in these cars anyway) driving even used. The #'s started in the 40's and went up from there:eek:

Feel free to inspect my car anytime.

Gary- Thanks for the offer to check out your car. If you're available, I may take you up on it in the next few weeks. I'm heading over your way a few days each week through Nov.

I'm really looking for a completed, used car- a few years old and a few thousand miles works fine for me. As you mention though, a lot of what I'm finding, I'm not really happy with.

I'll reach out to you when I plan to be in the Vorhees area and see if you're available.

Thanks again,
Chris

Still shopping... any leads are much appreciated....

Looking for a completed car within a few hours drive from Philadelphia, PA. Basically a weekend cruiser, looking for close to original however, no need to be perfect. Based on my budget (35k or less), Kirkham and Era are out of reach. I'll have to go Shell Valley, BnB, FF, etc.

Motor could be worked 351 or a 427- as long as its Ford and has 400+ hp. Definitely looking for a manual tranny. No donor motors.

Color is my issue... I'm stuck on silver or black. If I find one that meets all other requirements and is blue, I could go blue as well. The blue cobras just seem too common (at least within Cobras ;-)).

Thanks again guys
Chris

Lots of local stuff, years of computer searching and, finally in 2010, I bought a red Backdraft.

Enjoy looking,

If you click on highlighted link on Backdraft in above post, it is air flow and venting company. I thought the 4" inch butterfly looked like it was too big for a throttle body but there was an 8" one, too.

Jay, PWD again? Geez, I thought that was what I did! (I saw your comment on the Unique thread...and we all sometimes do the PWD thing, we just hope we didn't step in it too badly when we come around.)

He!!, I answer the phone for pennies!

Trash me all you can/want/need, I can take it, but please leave Pastor Kellogg alone.

In typical Muck fashion you misread my post... What else is to be expected. I was willing to offer a strong defense of Unique in my experiences with the poster. However (and a mod could probably back me up here) when I visited the links and read of Weavers passing I actually flagged the post and asked that it be put away for a bit.

ASSumptions

Chris,
As I mentioned earlier - give Rick a call. If he doesn't have what you are looking for, he may be able to help you find it.

And Rick, I worked with Jay a couple of years ago helping sort out a customer's Backdraft. We're cool.

And Jay, where did Don Morse's Backdraft end up? I heard he sold it, but it must be out of my area, as I haven't seen it since.

Been a long winter up here in the Northeast!!!

Domenic- thanks for the lead. I do browse that site however, it seems like a lot of the same ads over several months. I've heard from a few sellers on there that car has sold months back and the site won't let them remove the ad. Looks like you're not far from me- if you hear of anything local, please pass it along?

thanks,
Chris

Don's car has vanished... I think? Getting hard to follow secondary market now.

I'm sure this has been mentioned but I'm too lazy to read all the posts. I flew to Atlanta and didn't buy and then flew to Florida, bought a Cobra and had a week vacation on the best beaches in the world. I live in the Pacific Northwest so these were long flights. That is all part of the fun. The Atlanta Cobra was perfect but I didn't like the way the racing engine drove, too bucky. Check out cars all over the US. Have someone check it out or go there yourself. Have it shipped home. It will be the quickest way to get exactly what you want.
