Don't Do It!

Tomorrow night is the Santa Monica Sports Car Club's First Friday Night Rally. It starts in Mission Hills. These events are usually pretty difficult and you have little hope of staying on course unless you have memorized all the General Instructions.

Tomorrow's rally is written by Sam who is a very devious character. Even if you have memorized all the rules and have run lots of rallies, he will include some tricks that will throw you off course. You can see the hopelessness of it if you just read the rules at SMSCC.org. It is impossible, so don't do it.

I'm sure it's much too perilous for the average man. :)

Well, I'll find out in about 4 hours.

Do This One!

Last month's rally was a nightmare and we never even made it to the finish.

This month's rally is going to be really fun. There are no traps. You don't have to memorize 27 rules. Just follow the instructions and hit the designated checkpoints on time. You will have time to enjoy the scenery and fantastic roads.

Any car will do, but will not be nearly as much fun as the Cobra. Meet in Mission Hills, California behind the Bank of America at Devonshire and Sepulveda at 7:00 PM on Friday. The rally runs only 90 minutes and ends in Simi Valley where we eat pizza and get awards.

If you want to have fun with your Cobra without ripping up the tires on a track, this is the best way to do it. Believe me, I have tried everything!
