Looking at a Factory Five Cobra tomorrow. What Should I look for?
I am finally ready to buy a Cobra and am going to look at a local 1999 Factory Five Cobra tomorrow. What should I look for and are there any particular questions I should ask?

The basic concept of the FFR is to use a donor car for most of the components: suspension, brakes, engine, trans, rear, electrical, even the gauges. Some builders used all donor parts, and some purchased everything new. Be sure and ask where the parts came from, as that will effect value.
For example, if every non-kit component came from a '90 Mustang with 100K miles, then you're looking at a '90 Mustang with 119,000 miles. Not a bad thing, it just helps assess value. Otherwise, treat it like you would any used Mustang. Look for parts that have been replaced, and parts that need to be replaced. Look for upgrade parts like tubular suspension components, 4 wheel disc brakes, bigger engine, etc. |
