CSX2196 flip-top is it scheduled for another auction?

I was checking on the fliptop Cobra that , on consulting the net, I saw failed to meet reserve at the RM auction in 2010. I was wondering it is still is owned by the same owner, and if it will be at one of the big auctions in 2013?

RM catalog back in 2010 mentioned some previous owners:

Al Rivera of S&C Motors in San Francisco,
Mark King,
Dick Workman
Royal Krieger.
Chris Gruys

Was there ever a time when this car was passed up by regular cobra buyers who didn't want it because of the unusual body style, not quite 289 , not quite 427 body?

2196 is one of my favorites.

I like the "Turd" like the body style and the full comp attitude

In my opinion, and if I could afford an original car, this is THE car to own... how many more like it? Uuuuuhhhhh... NONE!
That's on the make-sense-of-it side. On the how-beautiful-and-cool side, I do not think any other open Cobra matches it.
I just realized how worthless my comment is, BUT I took the time to write it, so please read it:LOL:

Last I heard was still in Nevada just out of Reno?

Car was sold this past summer; will not be coming to an auction near you (as far as we know) any time soon.

There go my hopes... I was ready to make an offer...

Hmm, since most of us could not afford it anyway, I wonder if the new owner might be likely to display it at say a SAAC convention or a museum? I believe the car under previous ownership has been seen at SAAC conventions and such on the west coast. Is the car still on the west coast?

That's funny! I wanted to offer to swap cars plus $100. Then, I remembered how many hours I spent with my two boys (10 and 7) planning and discussing CSX6108, and how much they have planned to do with it (The 7 year old told me today, while sitting on my lap and watching B-J's first night on Speed, that after he buys his first car, ha wants to learn how to drive the stick shift on "Ricky Bobby" aka CSX6108). I could never get rid of CSX6108 UNLESS it was THEIR idea... and I already know the 7 year old does not like CSX2196:(
BTW "Leading travel agents to Allah"... THAT is funny!
