Exhaust heat.

I'm in the process of fitting side pipes, and I want to know what the minimum distance to the fibreglass body is?
I've got about 20mm now.I've made my own header, running into a cat, then into a 1 metre long hot dog. Would this also be quiet enough?

I would think that you would be ok on the noise level but remember those cats put out a lot of heat. Depending on the color of your car, can you get high heat reflective tape in that color to run along the bottom of the body beside the pipes. I used that and it worked very well and when I took it off after about a year the paint was still just like new.

Ron :)
