Welcome. Folks here help each other and don't charge consulting fees for advice, or I would have been broke years ago:D. Just get pics of the motor and give the casting numbers (block and heads). Somebody will help. Do you know where the casting number on the block is?

Screw in freeze plugs and cross bolted block is a great start...a photo of the driver's side would clinch it. If it has the side-oiler gallery "hump" running just above the crossbolts, you've got yourself the real deal

The marine engines have the side oiler passage on the side of the block and are typically not side oilers.

I say you need to see factory screw in freeze plugs and the plugs in the side oiler passage that show it was drilled. They are visible on the back of the block.

The casting number C7AE-A translates to a 427 side oiler, looks like the real deal :3DSMILE:

yep a pic of the other side would be helpful., looks like a leaky plug there on the passenger side. it has the right casting number for one. C7AE-A

The photo is of the driver's side, and the block is upside down. Look at the bulge along the length of the block 2" below the oil pan rail. It has 3 hex plugs screwed in it. That's the primary characteristic of the side-oiler block.

Thank you!

Thank you all for the help. I really appreciate it.

A fellow Club Cobra member named Steve talked with me about an hour on the phone and walked me through the whole process and where to look for numbers etc.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Now I hope that I can get there in time to buy it.....lol.

I'll post photos if I do.

Have a great day.
