Is Shelby announcing the next HP bump before the previous one (1,000HP) even comes out?
It's like waiting on the next iPhone because you don't want the old one.

Okay thanks, now give me my GT for $200k (and that's high). Or did they make that Mustang AWD?

ERA Chas 03-22-2013 03:38 PM

Here is a company that has lost its way.

bobcowan 03-22-2013 05:30 PM

Wow. By the time you add all the taxes, and "additional dealer profit", you're well over $250K. If I'm going to spend that kind of money on a performance car, it won't be from Ford. The name would probably start with F though.

I believe last year's version has been available and some are in production. A few may have been delivered.

You would need 12" wrinkle wall slicks to make it ever hook up at all.

WildBill1965 03-22-2013 07:06 PM

Not a dealer item, need to buy a GT 500 then contact Shelby in vegas for mods . They had a 1000 when I p/u my SS. It was bad ass and was 1100 hp.

Put that into a 2014 GT-40 and i'll be the first in line. This is Veyron territory with half the cylinders and I doubt that it has four turbo chargers!

Shelby Mustang

I could never see this, all that money and it is still an overweight drag car that won't really go around corners. You could build one yourself for way less money and get a better result in terms of dollars spent vs performance gained.

fordracing65 03-22-2013 08:15 PM

The cool factor here is you can have all that power and putt putt around town if you want, who cares the make, technology in engines these days is amazing...

mdross1 03-23-2013 06:03 AM

Can only imagine how many of these will be cruising the streets certainly a far cry from the working mans car that Henry Ford invisioned.$200+k Who is Ford trying to kid.

REAL 1 03-23-2013 08:40 AM

Ridiculous. They are Shelbyizig Focuses and now this?

There are some Ford performance cars I would spend $200k+ on before I would spend the same on that other "F" car.. Ever hear of a Ford GT ?

The only way the 430s are passing GTs are on the way down in value while GTs are rising. The 458s will drop too when the new latest and greatest 458 update car comes out.

I would buy another GT before I'd drop the $$$ on a 458.

agreed......just look at the lincoln brand. screwed forever....it will be gone in 10 years.

marcocsx3121 03-23-2013 10:33 AM

The price tag for the extra power is plain stupid. Once the engine is strong enough to handle more boost (as in forged crank, rods, pistons, etc.), turning the blower faster and providing additional fuel is not an expensive proposition. I just added 211 RWHP to my (dirty word coming) C5 Corvette for a little over $3k by mounting a smaller Procharger pulley, installing larger injectors, a methanol system, and a few sessions of dyno tuning. But my car doesn't come close to hooking up either.

FWB 03-23-2013 10:39 AM

if i spent 150+k on a car....really, a mustang would not be it. nor would it be in the top 5
