Welding Blanket (side pipes) Question
I remember reading a post where someone used a cut welding blanket to protect themselves from their side pipes. If I recall, welding blankets were cut and rolled up and placed on the side of each seat so they can be unrolled upon exit.
Does anyone have a pic of how they did this neatly? I am looking for ideas that might be better than simply hand rolling it and stuffing in down on the side of the seat if there are any? Maybe a spool?!?

I carried one rolled up behind the passenger seat for a while and would just lay it across the pipe if a passenger needed it. You use it infrequently enough that it's really not worth trying to attach it.

Remember once climbing out of a big block car with jeans on parked on gravel.Slipped a little climbing out amazing how quick the heat transferred through the pant leg.A welding blanket is a good idea if it doesnt slip off while climbing out.

I bought a 4x6 chunk of "Black Velvet" welding blanket and intend to cut it to attach under the seat rails on top and just reach the ground on the bottom. It was very cheap and, rolled up and stowed next to the seat, it looks just like a piece of my black carpet. No pic's but easy to imagine.

I used a strip of velcro that holds the piece of welding blanket in place between the seat and car door frame. Its a small space of blanket and its not really noticeable when rolled up so I dont believe you would need any kind of spool.
Cant recall if the blanket attached to the velcro by using sticky sided velcro or if I stitched the two pieces together by hand.
