Dremel Engraved 427 Cobra

I finally received a special, to me at least, piece of automotive artwork.
It's nothing fancy in terms of the content as many people have photographs and posters of this famous of cars, but to have someone etch this piece using a Dremel tool was kind of cool:

Better photos (he took before it became mine): http://exoticengravings.blogspot.com...obra-1965.html

The name of the engraver is Shawn Lisjack in the SoCal region and early in his youth, he was diagnosed with Dyslexia. Part of his therapy was to practice doing something that took focus, concentration, something that doesn't necessarily require speed to complete.

One day he picked up a Dremel tool and started down a path to what became Exotic Engravings ( exoticengravings.blogspot.com ). Jay Leno has one of his Lamborghini Miura. His canvas, typically a sheet of aluminum, has all sorts of items he's done but his passion has always been cars.

He gained a bit of critical review when he revealed that for years he's been engraving his own personal car, which is a 1992 Honda Civic, which Jalopnik did a spot on early this month:

This Hand Engraved Civic Is A 5,000-Hour Work Of Art

Last week, he contacted me on Facebook and wondered what one would pay for the original engraving he did for Carroll Shelby (but was too late to have him sign). I won't go into details except he indicated it took him about 240 or 250 hours to complete. I'm sure people gave him all sort of high and low numbers. Apparently I won out over others, thus this framed masterpiece arrived yesterday. I guess it helped that I did meet him two years ago and had a nice chat with him in 2010.

A close up to show the detail:

Oh, he also threw in two other things he did for ol' Shel:

An iconic man and his car is what motivated him to do all of these pieces. IMO, these are priceless and once the last two pieces are mounted and framed, they will be in my humble abode until the day I die.

Just wanted to share my little slice of automotive heaven. :D

All of the above and then some. Think of the hours he had to put in on those pieces. You truly are fortunate to have gotten them..Ron ;)

Incredible, always appreciate artistry in any form. Many years ago a budding artist from this area saw my lone Cobra in a local car show and did a beautiful pencil drawing.
