Can anyone identify this 1953 Corvette Replica?

A friend of mine bought an unfinished 1953 Corvette replica last week and he's trying to find out who the manufacturer was.

He told me the previous owner thinks the manufacturer was Classic Sports Cars in Florida but he's not sure. The original owner bought the kit back in the mid to late eighties and never finished it (as we all know happens a lot).

The frame has a plate on it and it reads Model XC-53. The frame it's on was made by the manufacturer (not a donor frame) and it has the mid to late seventies Nova front and rear suspension.

Does anyone here have any insight or info on this kit so I can pass it along? I attached a few pictures of it, sorry, I don't have any of the frame but I can find out if my friend has any.

Thanks!

Randy

Thanks RodKnock, he's been there and also quite a few replica websites.

I used to be a regular on Corvette Forum, so I know that a fellow by the name of JohnZ is the most knowledgeable person there. In one thread, he says the molds used to produce the XC-53 were owned and used by at least eight different companies over a period of about 15 years. So, getting the name of the maker of your friend's particular car could be a very difficult task. Why does he need the information?

Thanks for the info Tommy. His main concern is finding some parts for it like the windshield frame and glass. He found a few places that sells them for $3,999.00. That may be okay for a person restoring an original 53 Corvette but he's hoping theres another replica manufacturer out there that can steer him in the right direction for parts at a little lower price.

Thanks!

Randy

Didn't Lone Star make a 53 Corvette kit or maybe still does? Not sure but I think they did. Might be worth looking into for parts.

Most of the 53 replicas used OE frames and windows , as there was a time where those were available at a much lower cost than today.

You might consider a cut-down look or a plexiglas racer window to get going , or keep watching the swap meets and corvette crew for parts, but with the prices of pre-72 corvettes skyrocketing - who knows where the parts cost on them will go.

The funny thing about corvettes in the early days was the part where they were almost kit-cars themselves , especially by modern standards.

Corvette Central has the windshield for $489.

Oooh, perfect, I say turn that thing into a replica racer! Forget the stock glass windshield, maybe do a plexi like Panavia mentioned above. You can kinda get away with this stuff on something not original and have something very unique. Not overly difficult to make or some of the sports car fab shops can do it. I did one on a Lister type car, looks super cool. Maybe a tad taller than this one.

Hi Juggernaut,
The XC-53 is a Corvette Replica that was sold by a company called, Classis Sports Cars. They were doing business in Longwood, Florida 32750 and I do not know if they are still in business. I have a color brochure and price list for a build. This was around the early 2000's. The General Sales Manager was Vic Fishman. If I could be of further help drop me an email: femcmillian@gmail.com.
Thanks,
Frank
