New York registration question

I am in the process of gathering parts for my upcoming build and have a few ????s I purchased a 1965 Ford Thunderbird for the 390 engine which is dated C6ME which makes it a 66. I am not sure if 65/6 engines have vehicle specific vin stamped into the block or not. Any help on this would be appreciated. The transmission is a brand new Tremec so no issues there. My main concern is the engine. I have a title to the 65 Tbird.
Thanks
Mike

The 66 Thunderbird does NOT have a VIN stamped in the block. The title is obviously from other than New York as NY did not become a title state until 1973. The DMV will accept a bill of sale from the seller also.

Thanks. You are correct the title is from another state. What do I need to supply receipts for as many of my items are swap meet or ebay

A printout of the auction and the receipt from the seller should suffice. DO NOT think the DMV people are stupid or have no idea of values...they do. And understand the real issue is collecting NYS sales tax.
