Hi guys , I have a Smith reverse speedo . The mph works but the odometer doesn't work . I tried turning reset knob while when car in motion but NG. I notice that knob can be pull down. Whats wrong. We're can get repaired or should just replace the hole unit. We're can I purchase one. Also how does dash panel come off on superformance. Thanks Kennyh

If you plan on keeping the car for a while, get the electric version. As for taking it out, there are just two retaining nuts behind the speedo. You might find it easier to remove the tach first. The trip reset cable will pull straight out once the gauge is removed.

AGREED, the price to fix can sometimes be as much as the price to replace, it will probably break again, Smiths are know for that, get the electronic...

Speedhut (and others) also make GPS speedos similar to the Smith. Not legal everywhere, though.

Which brand?
Should I use smith electric or another brand? Will it just drop in,and using my cable from my smith mechanical speedo?

Smiths electric. Remove the cable from the car. The gear hole in the trans can be plugged a few ways. Use a plug from Tremec or pop in a freeze plug. When you order the speedo, order the wiring pigtail for the trans mounted speed sensor. It's not a hard install, but you will need some tall jack stands or a lift. You could pull the trans tunnel, but the adhesive on your # of car is fairly stout.
