Tilt Nose West Coast Cobra
Does anyone know where I can get in touch with the "newest" owner of Darren Freidmans silver and blue "paisley" striped West coast Cobra....it is the one he build several years ago that had a tilt front end....please send any info to jackblds@clearwire.net or 253-350-7520 pacific mountain time zone
also does anyone know of any other west coast kit that may be for sale....does not matter the location....coast to coast is O.K. |
Love the west Coast Cobra. Best frame out there.

Boss 429 in a Cobra
vern of WCC told me about 10 years ago that someone put a boss 429 in a west coast cobra....anybody seen it? I have seen the 427 "cammer" just listed on e-bay last week, but the boss engine may just be a mistaken "rumor" that has lived in my imagination for these many years....I have an L.A.Exotics kit that I need a motor /trans for.....any recommendations??? If anyone knows a good solution to the massive valve cover look I am wanting please comment with your ideas.....I don`t want to get a modern computerized powerplant cause they are just plain ugly to look at...too many sensors, plugs, gizzmos, and do-hickies just makin the motor plain overcrowded looking....ideally I am hoping to find the boss 9 heads and put them on my 429 block matted to a 6 speed.....any help or suggestions to put it together would be greatly appreciated

Massive valve covers ? Go Mopar with a 426 Hemi as far as valve cover size you cant get bigger.

Boss 429 in a cobra
Thats a good solution to the xtra large valve cover cosmetic appeal but I really want the boss engine simply because I don`t know of anyone out there who has a boss 429 in a cobra....I just like to be unique and different than most .....I`ve even thought of the boss 429 cobra gasser look with jacked suspension and chrome front straight axle....but that is a "fad" that probably has no re-sale value....yep now that I see my thoughts in writting I am definately going with the boss 9 in a "refined" traditional look

John Kasse Racing Engines has a new version of the Boss 9 head setup that bolts on to a typical 429 block. They make big power.

Cobra overheating problem

Now that I have more experience solving issues like this, I will see if I can come to a fair purchase price for both of us....thanks for the tip |
Remember when first getting ready for my drivetrain also wanted the Boss motor back then there were no Boss 9 options, then looked into the Cammer Wow! that was a dollar well.Had a copper 5 core radistor custom built for our 460 it runs 190 degrees all the time a little warmer in the August Maine sun in town.
Have to say the 460 in our car leaves no more room for anything bigger without firewall work.Course I was prepared for that back then. A gasser Cobra would make an incredible looking machine even more sinister. |
No problem..I would be interested in it myself but have my own project at the paint shop and I'm in NB Canada...would have to be 15 years or older to get it across the border...hope it turns out OK for both..
