12 volt cigarette lighter connection

What is the best way to add a connection for cell phone/ipod power? Directly from the battery? Where to locate it in the least conspicous area?

We put ours under the dash in an inch or so where the dash meets the cowl on the pass side.Mainly the best place to plug in Battery Tender.Very easy to reach in through the side curtains with soft top on.

I found a lead under the dash to connect to. It was run from the fuse box just needed to add a fuse. I mounted mine to a metal plate under the dash, out of sight.

I seldom use mine, so I put it inside the glove box.

I mounted mine vertically on the lower flange of the dash. Bought a stainless steel one from a marine supply company. My car came wired for it. Without that, just find a 12v source that is only hot when the ignition is on and put in an in-line fuse. Alternatively, you may have a fuse that is only doing light duty and could be utilized. I'd call BDR for their advice.

I put a dual plug set-up in my glove box.

I was in the process of adding a standard multiport accessory plug. While I was at the store looking to see what was available, I noted (subconsiously) many adapters also included a USB power port. Later tt occured to me that many of the electronics I use in the car also provide a USB type connection that also functions as a charger connector. I returned what I bought and will use the USB ports. Much smaller plugs too. You might want to consider this option too.
