Any idea how to insulate underhood area ??

I have some left over of Lobucrod heat barrier stuff and I would like to insulate the inside hood but I have no idea how to approach it. I would like to do a professional job so when you open the hood it looks nice.
Can anybody share his expertise on this please, thanks !

I haven't driven my car a lot since completion and was wondering If the heat in the engine bay can damage the paint. I did put that stuff on the firewall though and it makes a big difference in the cockpit.
So I shouldn't worry about the underhood !

I used a hi-temp glue and carefully cut and placed insulation on the underside of my hood. It looked great for about two years and then started to sag. This got annoying and so I pulled it off and was left with yellow glue globs and streaks on the underside of the hood. I was embarrassed to open my hood, so I took the hood off and sanded (and sanded and sanded) with a pneumatic random orbital sander and finally got all the glue and blistered bedliner (the original finish from my painter---also not a good idea) sanded off.

I have some VHT primer and paint that I'll refinish the underside with in a week or so.

So, I'd say forget about the insulation. If you are concerned about heat damaging the top side of the hood there is a guy back East that sprays an aluminized paint that reflects the heat. Bing/Google "Metalmorphis Cobra" and you should find him.

You can make the insulation look good for a while, but eventually the glue will give out. There are better ways to finish the underside of the hood.
