CSX Toploader Transmission Question
3 Attachment(s)
I just installed a Toploader in my CSX utilizing the stock bracket and 1 inch spacer. With this setup the engine clutch slave bracket and fork barely touch the frame rails however the trans tail shaft and rear end flange are at much different levels as shown in the attached. The angles look ok but my concern is the draft will hit the safety loop.
I'm not able to lower the back of the engine any further as the oil pan and clutch will hit the frame. Set is: 427 FE Stock cast iron bellhousing 4 speed toploader and stop trans mount. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, |

My transmission tail shaft is at the same level as the rear end flange or close to it, just off set to the right. I am running original Ford 427 rubber mounts because all the after market stuff is too high. My bell housing is stock cast iron and although close to the rear frame cross rail nothing hits. |
Yes the stock 2 hole motor mounts were used from NAPA C shape. The oil pan is about 1/2 inch above the crossmember so looks like no addtional clearance.
Thanks, |
