Bondurant Advanced Racing class at Circuit of the Americas

Here it is guys. Two days at COTA.

Almost $10K. I'm really thinking of doing it!!! I don't know if they will let you drive your own car in this class but will ask.

Each session is limited to 15 participants. Unlike the advanced class in Chandler (Phoenix) you cannot use your own car here.

That would be fun to drive your own car on that track, I did the school here in PHX years ago, I want to go to Miller park in Utah next and drive the Mustangs...

COTA is a great track. We ran a three day event there earlier in the year with the MVP group. By far the best track I have ever been on. Still trying to figure out the esses. Best way I found was to put all four on the rumble strips ;)

When I asked about your own car they said there is a open track day coming up.

If you are taking the advanced class in Chandler you are allowed to drive your own car. They don't recommend doing both days - you'll go through a set of tires and brakes. I was going to take my GT and chickened out because of the winter weather advisories in March from Colorado-Phoenix-Vegas-Colorado and it turned out to be right - we went 200 miles out of our way to avoid a major winter storm on the way back.

But no private cars on this track. They expect it to be a popular class and with that many they can't adapt. When I did my class there were only two of us, and it was just me until 3 days before the class. If I had been alone I would have switched it to the Formula Mazda car instead of the corvette.

When I was in Boulder,CO this weekend at the Shelby Museum, they told me there that Bob Bondurant was running a driving school in Colorado Springs...

Yes, it's at Pikes Peak International Raceway, sort of between Colorado Springs and Pueblo. Right now it's for "group functions". I don't think they have opened it for "individual" type classes yet.
