138 mph west of New Orleans when I rode in my first Superformance. Dealer was driving on some pos two lane road, told me the speedo was off by 3 mph should read 135 at corresponding rpm, I still take credit for 138. I think Katrina washed him away.

I have been in a Cobra that was traveling over 145 MPH though. Does that count? :)

And you're leaving it at that?!? What were you driving then?
The fastest I have driven personally is 130mph in a 1994 Toyota Camry. It was somewhere in northern AZ. I was younger then... :D I've also been up to about 135mph ins a 2007 Mustang GT that belonged to a friend and I wasn't driving.

Didn't Shelby say that at 160mph the Cobra hit the wall aerodynamically, which was the reason for them building the Daytona?
Also, I've read where some of the Cobra's had the fastback hardtop which was supposed to make them more aerodynamic. I wonder how much that helped?

Street: 120mph up highway 50 in the ERA FIA Cobra. Front end got light and I backed out of the throttle.
Track: 145mph on the main straight at Thunderhill in a race prepped 1970 Boss 302 Mustang. Turn 1 had a real pucker factor.

Race prepared 300ZX twin turbo. I do not have the reflexes to go near that fast anymore, so I have to live with just getting close. I'll never forget it though.

How guys have done 150-160 or whatever in these is beyond me and/or my skill set or testosterone level, I guess. My car had plenty to still go, but I decided that I would not be in it. I freely admit that I almost puked when I brought it to a stop. Will never forget it though!;)

Topped out my ZX11 on the Autobahn by hitting rev limiter in 6th many times. 192 mph indicated, but closer to 180mph... Not uncommon to ride 135-140 for an hour (or tank of gas).
Still working bugs out of my cobra build, and haven't had really aired it out yet.

90 mph. I do not know how you guys do it. I hit 90 and the recurrent thought is "How did those SOB's RACE this car, weekend in and weekend out?" You'd have to have a death wish.
Admittedly, I do not have the balls. Not in a Cobra, anyways (I drove my C5 Corvette at 130 a few times, then limited by the thought of my wife getting me out of jail:CRY:)

165/170 mph in csx3116 as a young man/passenger. Very wild ride, with the wind & all. At least thats what the spedo read. Best I've pushed mine is about 150 mph. But both had/have Smiths guages. Not the most accurate for sure.

140mph repeatedly on the front straight way at Thunderhill in my SPF; basically hitting the rev limiter in 4th gear just prior to the brake zone before turn 1. "Repeatedly" means that I've done about two dozen (or more) 20 minute sessions at T-Hill, so this was clearly not a one time experience :D

I havent had the cobra over 135 before it got squirelly. 150 in my new car (Bw 550)is like 60 in the cobra though. Scariest ride was 120 on the back of a motorcycle(stupid high school dare) the first Kawasaki Ninja

About 135 in a 1985 Mitsubishi Starion down a new straight, flat highway in Duncanville. That was a fun car. I guessing about 135 based on the tachometer. That was back when the digital speedo maxed out at 85 due to regulation!!!
